About:China Visa Exemption

I hold a New Zealand passport and want to visit Guangzhou, but currently I'm in Jordan.

I visited the Chinese Embassy in Amman - Jordan, and they refused to take my application and say I need to apply from NZ because I don't have a Jordanian residence visa, this really doesn't make sense!! time and money loss!!!

That is true. It is difficult to apply in a third country now if you are not a resident.
