Working Visa application and passport validity

Hi I hold a singapore passport and would like to apply for a working Z (around 3 months) in June. However, my passport expires in nov (just less than 6 months time). Do I need to renew my passport even though my passport will still be valid when I leave China? Thanks!

6 month validity of passport is required for application, you can apply asap if you have got the required papers from your employer. Otherwise, you have to renew your passport before application.
