What role did the Silk Road play on the spread of religious ideology?

It played an important role on the spread of religious ideology. Many religions such as the Buddhism, Islam and even the Christianims were brought to China through that road. Besides, Chinese ideology such as the Confuciansim was spread to other countries along the road.
