About:Marriage Registration in China

certificate of non-impediment

Hi. From what I understand, a "certificate of non-impediment" from New York City can be used as a viable substitute for a "single certificate" to marry a local from Guilin. Has anyone had such experience to use a "certificate of non-impediment" to get their marriage certificate in Guilin (or any other part of mainland for that matter)? The local bureau in Guilin said they just need the Affidavit of Single Status. Would like to know which document is the correct one: "certificate of non-impediment" or "single certificate". Thanks in advance!

Hi, it should be an Affidavit of Single Status, you can refer to http://houston.china-consulate.org/visa/english/marriage/jh.htm for more details.
