About:China Transit Visa

I am flying through PEK

I am a Thai flying from BKK to JFK using Air China already on a US F-1 student visa. I will be stopping over at PEK for only a few hours. Am I still eligible for applying to any Chinese visa (or the G)? I still want to apply for one anyway.

Many thanks,

Visa is not required if you will not leave the airport transit area. If you do need to go out, you should apply for a transit G in Thailand.
