duration of stay after expiration date

I will be entering China on may 26th and my visa says enter before June 4th. Can I stay after June 4th for as long as my duration of stay allows or must I apply for a new one? if I do need to apply for a new one, can I apply for it without leaving or should I do it beforehand in the US?
Thanks

Yes, you can enter on May 26th and stay as long as the duration issued, e.g, full 30 days.
