Transit visa query fro Australian citizens.

Hello,

We are Australian passport holders and have a 21 hr stop over in Shanghai on the way to Vancouver. We arrive at Hongqiao airport and depart from Shanghai Pu Dong airport. I have read that we do not require one for transiting through Shanghai for less than 48hrs. Can you confirm this information is correct.
Thankyou

Brendon Cary

Hi, you are not required visa to transit in Shanghai for 72 hours. This is a new policy from Jan. 1st 2013. So, if you need to transit via two different airports in Shanghai, you can apply for a stay permit after arrival at Hongqiao Airport.
