About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa for Indonesian passport holders

I am Indonesia who plan to have holiday in New Zealand with the family. We will be flying China Southern Airlines where there is a transit period of about 9 hours in Baiyun Airport Guangzhou. During the transit period, we decided to see the city before continue our flight to Auckland. Can we be exempted from getting the visa and enter Guangzhou for hours?

Visa is not required but you have to apply for the stay permit when you arrive if you want to get out if the airport.
