About:Chinese Consulate in Toronto

Do I still need a visa if I plan to stay in Beijing for 48 hours with no confirmed tkt onwards.

I have a Canadian passport and I am an airline employee flying from Toronto - Beijing (standby ) then on to Warsaw on LO also standby.
I do not have a confirmed flight to Warsaw but can provide a copy of the standby ticket on LO and a listing on that ailrine for a particular flight. Do I qualify for the free transit if I leave Beijing prior to the 72 hrs?

I am afraid that you are not qualified for the 72 hours free transit. Confirmed flights and valid visa to the third country (if required) are needed. You may call Beijing Airport Immigration Inspection at 0086-10-56095400 to confirm this.
