About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

North Korea

I plan to fly from Japan to Beijing and then to North Korea。I must go to the North Korean embassy in Beijing too。 Can I do this on a 72 hour visa exemption?I will return to Beijing from North Korea and then to America。 Would this be okay?

If you are not exempted from visa to North Korea, you should have both flight ticket and valid visa when you apply free transit in Beijing. So, you need to apply for a Chinese visa before departure if you want to visit Beijing. You can use the 72 hour visa exemption on the return trip North Korea-Beijing-USA.
