Can you use an expired Chinese passport to enter China?

My grandma's flight is 1 day away and she just noticed that her passport has been expired for 4 years now, will they let her into country if she flies over?
Will she even be allowed to leave the US with a valid green card only?

No, your grandma should have her passport renewed first. She may be refused to board the plane with an expired passport.
