Limitations of student visa

I plan on travelling to other countries and arriving a few months before my school starts. Are these issues when using a student visa?

Hi, please read your visa carefully, it generally has 30 days as duration, if yes, you need to apply for a residence permit within 30 days after entry, with help of your school. If you enter too early, I am afraid this will be a problem for processing of the residence permit. Anyway, you can contact your school for this.
