About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling from Australia to Canada (home country) with a 3 day stopover in shanghai.

Do we qualify for the visa free 72 hour policy. We are Canadian citizens, traveled to Australia and now we are heading back to Canada soon. We have a 3 day stopover in shanghai booked and are staying at the Hilton in shanghai, which is already booked and paid for. Do we qualify for the visa free 72 hour policy? If so, what do we need to do next? Who to call?

Yes, you qualify for the visa exemption if you have flight ticket to Canada leaving within 72 hours. You can confirm this with Shanghai airport Transit service center: +86-21-51105100.
