How to get from Guangzhou to Hong Kong?

If you take the bullet train from Beijing to Guangzhou, what is the best way to then get to Hong Kong?

The Bullet train from Beijing to Guangzhou will drop you to Guangzhou south station and you can catch metro to come to Guangzhou East railway station to catch Guangzhou-HK Fast train.
