About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Visa free entry Copenhagen-Beijing North Korea and back?

Hi

I just want to make sure that my friend and i qualify for the visa
free entry into the Beijing area two times in march 2013.

First of all, we are both danish citizens with danish passports.

On the 22rd of march we are flying from Copenhagen to Beijing (PEK) -
arriving on the 24th of march. Our plan is to stay in Beijing in
aprox. (40 hours) until we are leaving from Beijing Capital airport
(PEK) to Pyongyang in North Korea on the 25th of march. We have got
all confirmed tickets and visas(For North Korea), letters of
invitation and so on for the flight from Beijing to Pyongyang. Is that
enough to qualify for the free entry in Beijing.

When going back from Pyongyang to Beijing on the 29th of march we are
doing it reverse. We intend to stay in Beijing until we are leaving
Beijing(PEK) to Copenhagen on 31 of march (approx 48 hours stay in
Beijing). We have have got all tickets confirmed. I suppose we qualify
for the free entry this time as well?

Do i need to do anything besides going to the "free entry lane"
in Beijing? do i need to involve the airlines (Aeroflot from
Copenhagen to Beijing and Air China from Beijing to Pyongyang both
return).

Yes, you qualify for the free transit in beijing both trips to and return. Make sure tell your transit request to the airline before you take flight to Beijing on both ways, then you are able to get a free Stay Permits at the airport after landing.

Hi again...

It seems like my airline, Aeroflot, is not aware about any of this. Do i need to tell them the day i leave or today, 5 days before i leave.

And what do i need to fill out a form. I have now contacted three airlines 1) Air China 2) SAS and 3) Aeroflot and neither of them knew anything about the visa free entry...

Don't worry, it is simple, you can tell the them the day when you take the flight.
