Extension of stay in China with a multiple entry visa with 30 day stay condition

I am a Malaysian with a China multiple entry visa valid for 2 years. The duration of stay per entry is 30 days from date of entry into China. This was not a problem as all my previous stays are limited to within 30 days. However, I am planning to visit China for about 40 days on my next trip. What are the options available to get an extension?

You can apply for an extension with longer duration from local PSB after entry in China. But you should note that you may lose multiple entries after extension, for example, be issued with a single entry L with duration of 3 or 6 months. So, you are not suggested to risk like this if you prefer multiple entries. You may visit Macao and return back to start a new 30 day stay.

Thanks Jose for your reply.

Can you explain what is the local PSB and where are they located?

Our requirement for extension by only 10 days, not 3 or 6 months. Do you think the local Chinese immigration authorities will still cancel my multiple entry visa?

Hi, it is Public Security Bureau, police station actually. I am not sure where you are now in China, so please ask a local for the address. About the extension result, it depends on the officers anyway.
