Converting single entry to dual entry visa to China (URGENT question)

I am British Citizen passport holder and will be in Melbourne from 11th March 2013.. I have a single entry tourist L to China for a visit to Hangzhou from 16th April to 19th April 2013. It so happens that I have to go to Xiamen from 23rd March to 28th March. I have hotel booking letter for this visit and provisional flights booked. How should I go about making both visits? Do I apply for another one when I am Melbourne on 11th March? Grateful for your advice on it.

Apply for a new visa for your Xiamen Visit and your single entry for Hangzhou will be cancelled. When you come to China, apply for extension. Usually, you will get one month extension which covers your visit to Hangzhou. If your extension is not approved, you have to apply for a new one.

Further to my earlier inquiry, can I apply for multiple entry when I arrive in Melbourne on 11th March? I have single entry for a visit to Hangzhou from 16th to 19th April but have to make two separate visits. One to Xiamen from 24th to 28th March and second from 16th April to 19th April. Please let me know. I have British Citizen Passport.

Hi, please check your visa carefully, how long is the duration? I think it was not just limited as "from 16th to 19th April" right? a single entry is generally issued with 30 days as durstion. If you enter on e.g. 24th March, you can stay until 19th April without exit from mainland China.
