About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Is it possible for a travelling British passport holder to obtain a visa for China in Japan?

I am a British citizen travelling around the world. Is it possible to obtain a visa for China in Japan or SE Asia? I have my flight into and out of China booked. Thanks.
