Holder of Italian passport living in Tokyo and interested to visit Shanghai for less than 72 hrs

Good morning, I would like to be sure I don't need a tourist visa for visiting Shanghai if my stay duration is less than 72 hrs (3 days). Could you please confirm this information? Thank you very much.
Best regards. Silvana

Hi, 72 hour visa-free policy is only for transit passengers. If you fly from Tokyo to another country via Shanghai, then you can use this policy to stay in Shanghai for max 72 hours.
