About:China Transit Visa

transit in shanghai traveling from seoul to bangkok

hello. i currently reside in seoul, as a tourist with a US passport, and will be traveling to bangkok via shanghai. however, i have a 24h layover and would like to stay in the city. from reading this post, it seems that i don't need to have a prior visa. is this true and what kind of documents do i need to bring to get through.

Yes, visa is not required if you transit in Shanghai for 24 hours only. Just show the immigration your passport and flight ticket. Also, Thai visa if you have any.
