Do we need visa for transit?

I heard from someone that we need to have a Chinese visa if we transit in two or more different places in China. Is it true? I'm flying to Japan by China Eastern Airline next month. According to the flight schedule, I'll transit in Kunming airport for 14 hours and again transit in Shanghai airport for 3 hours. In that case, do I need a Chinese visa? Urgently need an answer!

Hi, visa is required if your total stay in China is longer than 24 hours. For a transit via two airports in China, you can apply for a stay permit after arrival at the first airport. In your case, you can apply for a stay permit in Kunming airport. Anyway, you can confirm this with China Eastern Airline if necessary.
