If the converter can change volt from 110V to 220V, it can be used in China.

Besides the voltage rating you will also have to check the power ratings before you use your power converter.
Devices that produce heat, like hair dryers, electric kettles etc consume a lot of power. If this is rated more than your power converter, it will most likely burn out your power converter.

Check for how many 'watts' your power converter is rated at and how many watts your hair dryer is rated at, before you plug it in.

The hair dryer should be rated at LESS than your power converter. e.g. a 700 watt hair dryer will work well on a 1000 watt power converter, but a 1500 watt electric kettle wont work but burn out the converter.

Hope this helps, and enjoy you trip to China.
