Traveling to China?

Hello, I am traveling to Kaifeng, Henan in april or may depending on what I need to travel. Is all I need documentation wise is a type L visa and my passport to travel to China? And if I do need a visa to travel what other ways are there to apply for one? I live in missouri and traveling to chicago isn't exactly easy?

Yes, you need your passport and valid Chinese tourist visa L for this trip. You can entrust someone else or an agency to handle your application if you can not visit the consulate in person.
