About:Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

Within a few weeks we are in Hanoi, Vietnam. We would like to apply for a visa over there.

- Is this possible?
- What are the costs? (we are from The Netherlands)
- How long does it take?
- Is it possible to pay an extra fee to get it faster?
- Do we need to bring our hotel reservation for the first night or do we need to show our hotel reservations of our whole stay? (almost impossible for us, travelling as backpackers)
- Do we have to show a detailed itinerary of our trip or only place A (entry) to B (exit)?
- We have a return ticket from Hong Kong to The Netherlands, is this sufficient?
- The return ticket is on May 15th 2013, is it possible to enter before April 15th 2013 with a 30 day visa?
- Is it a problem if we don't know yet when to enter if we request the visa?
- And is it a problem that we are unemployed? (we have enough money to travel)
- Which documentation do we need to bring more?
- What do we have to show extra when crossing the land border of Vietnam? (or is the visa sufficient)

Sorry for all these questions, but I hope someone can help us out, thanks!

Hi, my suggestion for you is to get a Chinese visa in advance in Netherland. Chinese embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam may not accept applications from temperary visitors. I heard from my friends that they got a visa from HCMC, but it was in last year. So, you'd better contact the embassy directly if you need.
