Family of 5 travelling by rail from Beijing to Xian

Hi, in July 2013 we will be traveling from Beijing to Xian and it is our plan to go by overnight rail. We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 19, 16 and 6 year old). Our 6 year old is 1.2 meters tall. Can we book a 4 berth soft sleeper and all sleep in the same carriage or do we need to book 5 beds? Also is there a better rail that we can catch given we will have suitcases/rucksacks. Thank you in advance.

Hi, your 6 year old child of 1.2 m child will enjoy a child bunk, whose price equals adult price minus half price of the relevant seat price, so you 5 may not stay in one cabin. Your 6 year old child can also choose to share one bunk with you (whose price equals half soft seat price), while the procedure will be very completed. You need to book a child hard seat for him first, after getting on the train, you need contact the conduct man to pay extra fee for the child soft seat price.
