About:China Visa Exemption

On round the world trip

I am arriving in Shanghai Pudong from Hong Kong on March 3 and leaving from Shanghai Pudong on March 5 to the USA (with transit stop in Hong Kong). Do I need a visa or does this qualify for the 72 hour visa waiver ? Thnank you

Hi, if you flight to USA from shanghai has a transit in Hong Kong, you need to apply for a visa in advance. Because your itinerary is Hong Kong-Shanghai-Hong Kong-USA. Your Shanghai trip is not as a transit actually.
