About:Chinese Consulate in Manchester

Polish citizen applying for visa in the UK

I am Polish and have been working and living in the UK permanently.
My Company wants to send me for a business trip – max 6 days
My questions are:
- Can I apply for visa in your centre in Manchester?
- What is the best option and the quickest one – personal appointment and online application form or download application form and apply in the centre in Manchaster.
The trip will start in 3 weeks time - 24/02/2013
Is there any chance to apply for and collect it on the same day? How much it will cost? Do I need to prove, I live in the UK, or Company letter of intent is sufficient?

Yes, you can apply in Manchester if you reside within its consular districts, with your permanent residence permit.
You need to make online appointment, and download application form and fill by hand, then apply in person from the centre on the appointed date. Same day service is unavailable. Regular processing takes 4 working days, fee is British Pound 56; but you can pick it up on the third working days if you pay extra fee about British Pound 63 for express service.
For business purpose, a Letter of invitation from a company or institution in China is required.
