Staying in Sanya airport

I have an early flight (8:10) and was wondering if the airport allows people to kind of "hang out" in the building? I have heard that some airports in China do not allow people to stay there and force them to leave in the evenings. I am staying in Dadonghai and do not really feel like trying to get a taxi that early (and it will be the day before Spring Festival begins...)
