What kind of financial proof do I need to apply for the L visa? (Peruvian)

Hi, I'm Peruvian and I'd like to visit China. I have an invitation letter from a friend in China, and in the letter, he wrote that I will be staying with him and will be covering my accommodation costs. I went to the embassy, and they said I still need to provide financial proof?

So my question is, what kind of statements do they need to see from me? Also, can my friend be a sponsor? In that case, what kind of statements does he need to provide?

Apparently, they need to see that you have at least $100 USD for every day you're in China?

You have to provide your bank statement which has enough balance in it as the financial proof. If your friendwill sponsor you, then provide your friend's bank statement.
