Visa Application for US Passport Minor

I am a Singapore citizen currently residing in the US. I plan on moving back to Sg soon with my US citizen/passport holder 2 year old son. I am in the process of applying for a student visa for him to start preschool. We are planning on visiting china shortly after we move back to Sg. Can I apply for a china visa for him when we are in Sg since I do not have our tickets/accomodations to china booked yet? Must I wait for him to at least get his Sg student visa before I can apply for my Chinese one? Thanks!

To get a China visa in Singapore for you American son, you must get his student visa and Singapore Residence Permti first.

By the way, singapore passport holders are visa free to China for 15 days for tourism, visiting families and other personal affairs.

Ok! So if he is just on a student visa and is not a PR, I would not be able to apply for a china visa for him from Singapore then?

It is ok too for applicants with document that entitle them to reside for an extended period of time in the SPR, WP, EP, STP, DP. He can try to apply with his Student’s Pass.
