Visa free entry to China for 72 hours for travellers in transit through airport

We are travelling to Shanghai by cruise ship in February 2013 and I notice that travellers have 72 hours entry Visa Free (as from 1/1/2013) from international airport - does the same apply when visiting via ship - we will be there for 2 days and have arranged to have 2 land tours while there

Actually, the 72 hours' free visa is just for passengers who arrive by air. Therefore, you still need a visa for two days' travel as you reach the city by ship.
