About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

i WILL BE IN SHANGHAI FOR 1 DAY ON A CRUISE SHIP, THEN WE LEAVE CITY, DO i NEED A VISITOR VISA

OR IF i CHOOSE TO STAY ON SHIP, DO i NEED A CHINESE VISA???

If you will visit the city of Shanghai for one day, you will have to apply for a visa. If you will stay on the cruise, no visa will be required.
