NZ/AUS resident

Hello.
I am New Zealand by nationality but reside in Australia permanently as a special resident. I do not need a visa to live permanently in Australia and I have not got one. What documents do I have to provide for a tourist visa to China 2013-07-17 until 2013-07-23 and HongKong stopover for 16 hours return flight home on 2013-08-11. Also what would the cost be for this visa. Thank you.

You need to submit your valid passport, duly filled application form and the supplementary appliccation form, one passport standard photo, two-way air ticket, hotel booking in China and your residence permit in Australia. The visa fee is A$50.

As for your transit in Hk, New Zealand passport holders are exempt from visa there for 90 days in fact.

I do not have a residence permit or Visa for Australia. It is not needed between New Zealand and Australia. This is the reason I originally wrote to you. I am sure I am not the only New Zealander living permanently in Australia who has travelled to China. Could you please clarify what is required in this circumstance. Thank you.

Hi Corrinne,
New Zealanders are automatically granted a Non Protected Special Category Visa upon arrival to Australia, even though we don't fill out visa applications, most of us, unless we have become Australian Citizens since arrival or arrived prior to 2001 are living in Australia under this Visa, which means we can live and work in Australia. The entry date stamp in your passport should be enough for them to check.
