Using Ferry with overnight stay

Hi. I am arriving at HCI too late in the evening to catch a ferry. I will stay at the Marriott near the airport. I plan to catch a 9:00 am ferry the next day to Shekou Port. My question is: Do i have to go back to the airport in the morning, or can i skip the airport and go to the ferry pier? or is the pier at the airport?
