About:China Visa

i am a filipina and my husband is a canadian but he was born in shanghai.

hi, i am a filipina living in the philippines right now and my husband is a canadian but he was born in shanghai and residing in canada now, we're planning to visit his dad in shangai this summer and we will be staying there for 2months, i it possible?? how can i get a visa for me to enter china?? thanks :)

It is possible for you to get a family visit visa. Since your husband will get his visa in Canada I guess, and yours from Phillippines, you need an invitation letter from his dad from China, with proof of relationship. One month L is enough, because you can extend it when you are in China.

I wanna ask some more, if you dont mind, since we are planning to have a vacation in shanghai this coming march 2013, should i process the visa now? thanks :)

If you will visit Shanghai in March, you can apply for an L in late January or February.

Documents needed are your passport, application form, photo, invitation letter from China. But if visiting PRC for the first time, BIR-Stamped income tax return form, recent 6 months bank statement and original bank receipt are required. If your husband will shoulder on all the expense, his is ok for application. You can contact the embassy directly for confirmation.
