About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Return from Japan-Beijing or Japan-Shanghai only....

With the new policies would it be possible to visit Peking from Japan for just a weekend (Friday evening- Sunday afternoon) before returning back to Japan or would a visa be needed?
Does the same apply for Shanghai?

Hi, Jay, in this case, you need to get a Chinese Visa. This new policy is just applicable for passengers who have a transit in these two cities.
