About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Two separate 144 visas? Japan-Beijing-Hong Kong-Shanghai-Japan? with US Passport

Hi, I want to visit Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong. I understand that I obviously can't do both Shanghai and Beijing on the 144 hour visa exemption due to them being in different regions. I have been unable to find any limits to the number of 144 hour exemptions that can be obtained for travelers. From everything I've researched... to be able to travel A->B->C->D->A with A and C being outside of China, this should be a possibility. I just wanted to see if there have been success stories with this, or if there are limits to the frequency of 144 hour visa exemptions that travelers need to have? Please let me know your experience. Thank you.

There isn't a limit to the number of transits, you can turn back around the same day in HK and get another 144 hours upon re-entry. Just make sure to actually take the flight to HK as fictitious bookings will be caught.
