Thanks Fiona, Today I lodged my application and was told at the consulate that a single will do if I do not enter other countries inbetween.

Can you please tell me what is the base of your recommendation?

Hi, this is the details from CVASC's official website: Cruise ship passenger may apply for single, double or multiple-entry based on cruise ship's route and number of entry. Therefore, a travel itinerary is required. Except for HK, you will stop at three ports within mainland, so a multiple one is required.
