About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Travel in from Seoul to Shanghai for 3 days - and then back to Seoul. Visa required?

I will be in Seoul for 4 months in 2013 and plan to travel to Shanghai over the weekends from time to time. So I will basically fly Seoul-Shanghai-Seoul (may with transit in another Chinese city for 2 hours). Do I need a VISA? Can the country I come from and I travel to not be the same?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Yes, visa is required. It is no problem for you to visit China from Korea.

Well it is not possible for me to apply for Chinese visa in Seoul due to restrictions.
Why do I need a visa? Because I am flying back to the same country? If I would fly to another country and after that back to Seoul, would it be fine?

Many thanks

yes, visa is exempted for direct transit only by internation flight, but not a single return trip.
