About:China Transit Visa

We are coming to HKG (overnight stay )and Shanghai for a one day stop on a cruiseship next March.

We are a family of 4 Australian passport holders on a cruise next year, 2 days in HKG and 1 day in Shanghai. Do we need to get a Chinese visa for this short stay? Lots of conflicting advice, including that from Princess Cruise LInes?

If you will stop at Shanghai by cruise, you do have to apply for a transit visa for that.
