Obtaining a work visa in the UK

I am currently in China and hold a valid Foreign Expert Certificate. I plan to return to England in January 2013 and will need to organise a new Z visa before returning to China. Can you please advise on what documents I will need? Do I need to start the process from the beginning or will the F.E. Certificate be enough?

Have you changed your current Z into a residence permit? if yes, the permit can be used to enter China again if it is valid. It is not necessary for you to get a new Z visa.

Sadly not. It was supposed to be arranged by my employer and they missed the thirty day period. I have the expert certificate, but presume to apply for a fresh Z visa I will have to begin again. Is this the case?

No, if you will return to UK, you can use the current expert certificate and invitation letter from your employer for Z application. Other documents needed are the physical examination, passport, application forms with photo.
