I am Nepali citizen currently in China on an L. I have been offered a job here andthey have said to go to other countries and apply for Z ( Work Visa). I currently have Working permit in China. Would I be able to get a Z from embassy of China in Sri Lanka as I will be there to visit my grand father. If yes which documents do I need to present there ?

I have to say that currently China visa applications in a third country are required valid long-term visa or residence permit for that country. Most probably your application will not be accepted if you do not have it. The best option for you is to apply in Nepal. Anyway, if your plan to visit your family was settled, you can have a try to submit your application to the embassy there.
