About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

cost of resident permit

i will be back in china next week on a z visa, and my company i am working for will be changing to the resident permit, but they have asked me to pay for it..
can anybody tell me how much this will cost?

Hi, the fees for residence permit should be paid as follows:
With no more than 1 year validity：RMB 400 per person;
valid for 1-3 years：RMB 800 per person;
valid for 3-5 years：RMB 1000 per person.

ok thanks. i have one more question...
is the accomodation registration slip you get from the police station free, or is there also a cost? i have to do this next week

You have to pay for the residence permit, but the registration slip may be free. However, you'd better take some extra money with you in case.
