red and green channels and customs forms

I will definitely go through the green channel as I have nothing to declare. As I understand it,
a form needs to be filled out and retained if going through the red channel, but I am uncertain
if a form needs to be filled out, retained and submitted when leaving China if one goes through
the green channel and has nothing to declare?
