9 hours in Beijing

I have 9h between flights here, what is the best way to see a bit of Peking during this time?

As I know, if you stayover for 9 h, you can stay in the airport whithout a visa. But as you wanna see a bit of the city, maybe you cannot get out of the airport. So I'm afraid you may fail to see the city outside.
