staying for 2 weeks

Hello, I am visiting Shanghai for 2 weeks on a business trip. What places would you suggest me to check out ? I am interested in seeing ancient architecture and culture and also some modern marvels of the city. I would like to pick some gifts for my wife so whats your recommendation for shopping ?
I was always a fan of great wall. Is it possible to visit it without burning a lot of money. Please advise.
I really liked your site. There is lot of great information here

You should not miss the Bund with 26 various buildings of different architectural styles. You can also do Huang River Cruise in the evening to enjoy the wonderful night view of the city. Older Street (Miaoqian Street), Qibao Ancient Town are a nice places for you to enjou the architecture and culture. You can also go to Visit Yuyuan Garden, Xin Tian Di and Zhujiajiao. The Great Wall sections are far away from the city. If you do not want to burn money, it may be hard for you to see the walls.
