About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Is there a "Marriage Visa"?

Can an American marry a Chinese woman and then live in China with her? If so, what type of visa is required?

You can't get the permenant residence permit of China through marrying with a Chinese soon after the marriage. You have to live in China for a continous five years with a tourist visa first.

Hi Bob, you are eligible to apply for family renuion Q type after marriage registration. But it is very hard to get permanent residence status actually. Q1 is issued for longer stay, and Q2 for a stay less than 180 days, while Q2 type can be extended without leaving.
