Visa Overstay

I have been in China now in excess of 7 years. I was told to keep reapplying for a visa if I intended to stay permenantly in China as I can gain residency by not leaving. The past five years I have been without a visa.
I have two children that were born in China and both have now got their USA passports and born abroad certificates.
If I so now choose to leave China with one both of my children what is the best way to cover the penalties for overstaying the visa?

You have overstayed in China for 7 years? My god, you will be fined, expelled from the country and prohibited re-entry for 10 years, or even put into prison. Do go to the local public security bureau to ask for some practical help as soon as possible.

This is the rest of the story..In 2005 I bought a house in Shenzhen and I have the red book.
I bought another house in my fiancee's name.
I think you are really exagerating saying I will go to prision.
Have you any idea how many Chinese live and work illegally in the USA?
I am not a criminal so don't think too much..I have not worked in China.
I think you should ask some more questions before firing off an answer.

Sorry for that. If you have real estate in China, the thing will be different? Then do you have residence permit?

No worry may you report to nearest police station and next day go to Immigration along with return and confirmed dummy ticket that's it may you have to pay fine 5000 RMB for full of family members and get out new visa along with warning not to do next time
