Chinese Tourist Visa for Pakistani citizen based in UK

Dear Sir/Madam
I am a Pakistani citizen based in UK for the last 7 years currently on a work permit. I intend to visit china in April along with my wife and 6 month old daughter to see my brother who is currently studying there. I was told by Chinese embassy in UK that i cannot apply for tourist visa for china from UK and i should apply from my home country. Also it should be booked as a group of five through a recognized travel agent. Can i under any circumstances apply for it from UK and if not can i apply directly to the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad (Pakistan) for me and my family without having to go through a Travel Agent.

If the local China embassy said you can't, then no way to get it in Uk. However, you may still try to enquire aome visa agencies to see if they can offer any help. Good Luck! I'm afraid you must apply for the visa through a travel agent.
