About:China Visa Application in UK

British tourist travelling to Beijing

I am looking to stay in Beijing for 5 days as part of a multi-city trip that will take me from London to Beijing then onwards to Phuket and a return journey to London from Phuket via Beijing (transit period only).

What is the best way for me to apply for a Visa? What if I book the flights before it, as I read in the requirements this is needed, and then the Visa is not granted?

Visa is not required only for the transit when you return from Phiket to London if your stopover is less than 24 hours. But for your first entry for 5 days in Beijing, you need to apply for a single entry China tourist visa in advance. Air ticket and hotel reservation are required for application itself.

Can we get this tourist visa within a week? If yes, how do we apply for the 'urgent' service? Thank you in advance.
